About this test

The number typing test focuses on the digits, dates, amounts, and codes that trip up even fast typists. Most everyday practice is all letters, so the number row and its rhythm often lag behind — yet accurate number entry is exactly what data entry, accounting, and admin work demand. The samples here mix plain digits with realistic-looking (but entirely fictional) invoice totals, dates, and reference codes so you practice the patterns you'll meet at work. None of the numbers are real phone numbers, card numbers, or personal identifiers. Take your time reaching for the top row, decide whether you prefer the number row or a numeric keypad, and aim for zero mistakes — a single wrong digit in real data can be far more costly than a mistyped letter.

How to use it

  1. Type the digits and figures exactly as shown, including separators.
  2. Reach for the number row without looking if you can.
  3. Type the text exactly as shown; correct characters turn green, mistakes turn red.
  4. Use Backspace to fix mistakes, or keep going — your choice.
  5. When the test ends, review your WPM, accuracy, and consistency.

Frequently asked questions

Are these real numbers?

No. Every figure is fictional sample data — no real phone numbers, card numbers, or personal identifiers are used.

Should I use the number row or keypad?

Either works. The number row suits laptops; a dedicated numeric keypad is faster for heavy data entry.

How is WPM calculated?

One word is defined as five characters. Gross WPM = characters typed ÷ 5 ÷ minutes; Net WPM uses only correctly typed characters. See our methodology page for details.

Is my typing sent anywhere?

No. Your keystrokes and results are processed entirely in your browser and are never uploaded to our servers.
