We take content sourcing seriously. Here's where every piece of text on this site comes from.

Test passages

All quote, punctuation, number, and code passages are original writing created for this project. We do not copy sentences from modern books, articles, film dialogue, or song lyrics. We exclude personal data, hateful or explicit content, and anything unsafe.

Number data

All digits, dates, amounts, and codes in number tests are fictional sample data. We do not use real phone numbers, card numbers, or personal identifiers.

Code samples

Code snippets are short, original examples written from scratch for typing practice. They are safe and are not copied from licensed repositories.

Word lists

Word-mode practice uses hand-curated lists of common English words grouped by difficulty. Individual common words are not copyrightable; the curation and grouping are original to this project. We filter out profanity and sensitive terms.

How the data is maintained

All text lives in a central data file with a source type recorded for each entry (original, public-domain, or licensed). A validation script checks for duplicates and verifies word and character counts. New content is reviewed against the same standards before being enabled.
